Rush Hour 4 will be hitting the big screen soon.
Jackie Chan talks about Rush Hour 4
In a recent press conference, Jackie Chan told his fans that Rush Hour 4 will be made soon. The Hollywood star shared that a previous script threw the idea of a fourth installment out but it is now refined and ready.
He shared, ‘Last seven years, the script was no good. But yesterday everybody agreed, “Yes, that’s the script”‘.
Over the last ten years, fans have been speculating on whether there will be another Rush Hour film given its second and third installments over the years.
In 2017, there were some rumors that Rush Hour 4 was going to be filmed. However, it turns out that these rumors were obviously not true.
Now, it seems that both Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker are on board with the film after the script appeared to appeal to them this time around. But, fans will need to prepare for a different take on Rush Hour 4 as Jackie Chan previously expressed that the fourth installment of the film will differ from its predecessors.
New movie script is approved
Jackie Chan noted, ‘It’s pretty good. Different. It’s not like [about a] drug dealer, this is not like [about] fake money, [it’s] something different… I don’t want to always do the same thing again, again.’
It is unclear when filming will commence given that a new installment has just been confirmed.
In the previous film installments, Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker take on the roles of two misplaced cops. Who end up working together to find the kidnapped daughter of the Chinese Consul.
The first Rush Hour film was first produced in 1998. Since the first film did pretty well, producers went on to make a second and third sequel in the years 2001 and 2007 respectively. It is currently unclear whether disgraced director Brett Ratner will return to direct Rush Hour 4 after sexual assault allegations were made against him. Ratner previously directed the first, second, and third installments of Rush Hour.
