Jimmy Fallon recently took to his Twitter handle to set the record straight.
Rumors of Jimmy Fallon dead make their rounds
A recent hashtag, which read #RipJimmyFallon had been making its rounds on Twitter. Those who understandably didn’t get the joke were quickly met with a ton of emotions about the passing of the television host.
However, it turns out that Jimmy Fallon is in fact not dead. And that this unflattering hashtag was started by one person. It has since continued to spread on the social media platform.
In response to this, Jimmy Fallon wrote, “Elon, can you fix this?”
Presently Twitter has been criticized for multiple of its decisions. Following, multiple staff layoffs, the social media platform has been going through a ton of changes.
Musk makes changes to Twitter
Right now, fake hashtags are just one of the many things that have been going wrong. Since Elon Musk took over Twitter in the past month.
Since Elon Musk took over Twitter, there has been a significant increase in fake accounts that have been created. Last week, an account with a verified checkmark by the name of Eli Lilly and Co spread a fake announcement that shared insulin is free.
According to Billboard, the company’s stock fell from $368 to $346 after the fake post spread around social media. The recent increase in fake accounts has increased since Elon Musk let go of all of the staff who were responsible for removing fake accounts and monitoring these accounts.
Right now, Elon Musk is on the brink of making some huge changes to Twitter which includes charging the verified accounts a fee to keep their verified status.
Amidst all of these changes, many have chosen to leave the platform as there are too many changes and issues. Public figure and actress Whoopi Goldberg has also left the problem since Elon Musk took over.
