Elon Musk recently introduced some new changes to Twitter. However, these changes were met with extreme criticism.
New Twitter rules
In a matter of weeks, Elon Musk has managed to make many Twitter users unhappy about the terms and conditions of the app. While respecting guidelines on how to conduct yourself is grounded, other guidelines have come across as a little bit much.
This weekend, Elon Musk shared that Twitter users will no longer be able to share links that promote other social media platforms. While this is still a broad concept, users will likely not be able to share links to their other social media accounts.
“If violations of this policy are included in your bio and/or account name, we will temporarily suspend your account and require changes to your profile to no longer be in violation. Subsequent violations may result in permanent suspension.”
Will Elon Musk step down?
The CEO also made it impossible for users to share links that go outside of the Twitter app. Which has since sparked much criticism from its users.
Since the launch of the app, Twitter users have been able to share links to their other social media accounts. As well as links to their business pages. With the new rules in place, users will not benefit from the traffic gained by the platform. Since it is no longer allowed.
Now that Twitter has been brought up to speed about the new rules, users have not been impressed with it. As it now limits their use of Twitter overall.
Elon Musk has since started a poll on the platform to engage Twitters users on a very big matter. That is if he should step down as CEO or not. Those who voted ‘yes’ are currently leading by 58 percent compared to those who voted ‘no’ at 42 percent.
Taking to his personal Twitter account, Elon Musk told his followers that he will “abide by the results of this poll”. More updates are expected to follow.
