Prince Harry is just a few days shy of releasing his new memoir, Spare. Here’s what we know about it so far.
New details emerge on Spare
In his memoir titled Spare, Prince Harry drops a few bombshells on his relationship with his father, his brother, as well as his late mother, Princess Diana.
While his memoir is set for release on January 10th, media outlets such as The Guardian and BBC are one of the few publications that have managed to get a copy of Spare in recent days.
Back in 2022, Prince Harry was believed to publish his memoir at least a month before his grandmother’s passing. However, in the wake of his grandmother’s deteriorating health, the royal decided to postpone publishing his memoir until 2023.
Prince Harry shares how he found out Queen Elizabeth died
As the days come closer to obtaining a copy, some media outlets have already begun sharing parts of the memoir and one recurring theme in the prince’s story is grief.
After learning about the decline of his grandmother’s health, Prince Harry shared that his father instructed him to come back to the UK. However, he received strict instructions to not bring his wife Meghan Markle.
While landing in Scotland, Prince Harry revealed that he found out about Queen Elizabeth’s death, like all of us. That is, through an online publication.
Of his mother’s death, Prince Harry seems to reverberate the constant emotion of grief. As a child, right into his adult years. The royal put emphasis on not wanting his father to re-marry amid fears that he will have an “evil stepmother”.
In addition, Harry opens up about receiving the cold shoulder from his father when the news first broke about the death of Princess Diana. The royal noted that his father never gave him a hug after telling him about Diana’s passing.
Another key moment is the Prince hoping that his mother will somehow turn up back home “in a blonde wig and dark glasses”. Part of this excerpt read, “Perhaps she will appear this morning,”
