Isla Fisher and Josh Gad are starring in a new series, Wolf Like Me, together and during a recent interview, recounted the time Isla had to save Josh from falling off a cliff.
Josh Gad nearly fell off a cliff
During filming for the series, the actors experienced some intense weather while shooting on top of a cliff.
“We did have some of the most intense winds that I’ve ever experienced in my life,” Josh commented.
And during a cliff scene, it seems like there was a moment when the winds got a bit too strong for the Frozen star. So much so that his co-star had to stabilise him so that he didn’t lose his footing.
“Isla and I were up on top of a cliff, and she had to stabilise me, which is a lot.”
And when Isla was then asked about the incident during the interview, the Australian actress remained modest, saying, “It was very windy that day, but we got so lucky.”
The actors took filming seriously
Wolf Like Me is a six-part series set in Australia and showcases Josh Gad a single father struggling to raise his 11-year-old daughter. But when his car collides with Mary’s (Isla Fisher) car he and his daughter’s life are turned upside down…literally.
It seems that Mary is the only one who can soothe his daughters panic attacks and the pair start building a relationship. However, as they grow closer together, it’s clear that Mary is hiding a “very dark secret“.
And with the perfect balance of suspense and comedic relief, the actors have high hopes for their new show.
“We didn’t want to play it for laughs,” the Confessions of a Shopaholic actress said.
“It’s a risk. You think, ‘Oh, I hope this pays off and it doesn’t look too earnest or melodramatic.'”
Josh added: “I think we’re playing the truth of the characters. The true north was just trusting each other and giving into the necessity that the role called for.
“They both have such extreme baggage, and yet somehow their baggage cancels each other out.
“These two characters who start at these really low points can rely on each other, despite the fact that they’re both in a chaotic situation.”
Wolf Like Me is set to be released on February 25.
