The Golden Globes has finally gone in full swing and the actors and actresses who reigned supreme have been revealed!
Some of the tv shows and films that have won include Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, and Abbott Elementary scooped up awards for best supporting actress, best actor in a limited or anthology series, and best comedy series respectively. Best Director
Steven Spielberg won the award for best director at the Golden Globes this year. The filmmaker competed against the likes of Baz Luhrman, James Cameron, and Martin Mcdonagh.
Best Supporting actress
The nominees for this category include Jamie Lee Curtis, Carey Mulligan, Kerry Condon, and Dolly De Leon. Actress Angela Basset ultimately took home the award for best supporting actress at the Golden Globes for Black Panther 2. She is currently the first actress to receive a Golden Globe for a Marvel film.
Best Picture, Drama
In this category, the nominees included Top Gun, Elvis, Tar, Avatar: The way of the Water, and The Fabelmans. The winner who took home the Golden Globe is The Fabelmans which was directed by Steven Spielberg.
Best Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series
Actors Colin Firth, Andrew Garfield, Sebastian Stan, Taron Egerton, and Evan Peters competed for this title. In the end, Actor Evan Peters took home the Golden Globe for best actor in a limited series.
Of his acknowledgment, Evan Peters said:
“I want to thank everyone who watched the show. It was a difficult one to make, a difficult one to watch, but I sincerely hope some good came out of it.”
Best Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series
The nominees for this category include exceptional actresses such as Jessica Chastain, Julia Garner, Lily James, Julia Roberts, and Amanda Seyfried. Actress Amanda Seyfried took home the Golden Globe this year for her role in The Dropout.
Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy, Musical, or Drama
Actors Jonathan Pryce, John Lithgow, John Turturro, Tyler James Williams, and Henry Winkler were the nominees for this category. Tyler James Williams who rose to fame on Everybody Hates Chris, won the award for his role in Abbott Elementary.
Best Supporting Actress in an Anthology Series or Movie
The nominees in this category include Jennifer Coolidge, Niecy Nash, Aubrey Plaza, Daisy Edgar Jones, and Claire Danes. Actress Jennifer Coolidge scooped up the Golden Globe award for the amazon series The White Lotus.
Best Actress in a Comedy Series or Musical
Actresses Jenna Ortega, Kaley Cuoco, Quinta Brunson, Selena Gomez, and Jean Smart were the nominees in this category this year. Abbott Elementary actress Quinta Brunson took home the Golden Globe for her role in the aforementioned series.
Best Actress in a Drama Series
Nominees in this category include Emma D’Arcy, Hilary Swank, Laura Linney, Imelda Staunton, and Zendaya. Actress Zendaya reigned supreme in this category for her role in Euphoria.
Best Actor, Drama
For this category, the nominees include Brendan Fraser, Jeremy Pope, Austin Butler, Hugh Jackman, and Bill Nighy. Actor Austin Butler took home the award for his role as Elvis in the film of the same name.
