Glass Onion was first released in cinema by Lions Gate in 2019. But the second installment is now available to stream digitally on Netflix.
What do viewers think of Glass Onion?
Since its release on December 23rd, Glass Onion formed part of a discussion that was held for days after its release. The film has so far obtained mostly good reviews. With fans favoring Janelle Monae’s performance best.
However, fellow actor Ben Shapiro had a few unfavorable things to say about the film. This included bad writing and the fact that the film had taken a long time to actually get to the point.
In his tweets, Shapiro noted that the murder of the film is only found within an hour of watching the film. He further noted that viewers are “actively deceived by the writer”.

He wrote, “We only find out about the actual murder one hour and ten minutes into the film, as well as an entirely new backstory (Miles never invited Blanc, and Andi has a twin sister masquerading as her) We’re actively deceived by the writer.”
While Shapiro didn’t speak in favor of Glass Onion there sure were plenty of viewers who thought that the film was in fact great.
One Twitter user wrote, “Dude. Do you not understand how detective mysteries work?”. While another shared, “Oh good heavens, a mystery movie misled you? Can’t wait for you to review a horror movie perplexed that it scared you.”
We only find out about the actual murder we’re supposed to investigate full one hour and ten minutes into the film, as well as an entirely new backstory (Miles never invited Blanc, and Andi has a twin sister masquerading as her). We’re actively deceived by the writer.
