Bruce Willis is reportedly struggling
In a recent interview with the Hollywood reporter, Sylvester Stallone shared a little insight into how Bruce Willis is holding up since his announcement of retiring from the one thing he loved most, acting.
The actor shared, “Bruce is going through some really, really difficult times. So, he’s been sort of incommunicado,”
Presently, Times Now reports that Sylvester Stallone is one of the first actors and close friends that had reached out to Bruce Willis following his diagnosis. The Hollywood actor has since retired from making movies as the impact of Aphasia had already begun to impact the actor.
In a statement previously made to the public by the actor’s family, they shared that Bruce Willis has been having health issues and will therefore go into a peaceful retired life.
“To Bruce’s amazing supporters, as a family, we wanted to share that our beloved Bruce has been experiencing some health issues and has recently been diagnosed with aphasia, which is impacting his cognitive abilities. As a result of this and with much consideration, Bruce is stepping away from the career that has meant so much to him.”
What is Aphasia?
Right now, Aphasia is an illness that affects the brain. Particularly, the cognitive part of the brain which is responsible for memory and speech.
Thus far, there can be many causes for Aphasia which include heart disease and a stroke to name a few. The illness will largely impact one’s ability to speak, form sentences, write, understand written text, and memory.
At the moment, it is unclear how much Aphasia has begun to impact Bruce Willis but Sylvester Stallone has shared that it’s been quite a long time since he last spoke to the former actor.
Some of the symptoms to look out for include, loss of memory, speaking in short sentences, and speaking gibberish or in sentences that don’t make any sense.
