Black Coffee and Enhle Mbali haven’t been seeing eye to eye since abuse allegations came to the fore. The DJ is now sharing how these allegations affected his life.
DJ opens up about past abuse allegations
In 2021, Enhle Mbali filed a restraining order against Black Coffee who allegedly physically assaulted her in the marriage. However, these claims were later thrown out by the court which didn’t find the DJ guilty.
While Black Coffee wasn’t convicted of domestic violence, the DJ has found it difficult to move past the abuse claims that have since filtered his life experience.
The DJ took to Twitter to share how the abuse claims have affected his life so far. In doing so, Black Coffee has maintained his innocence in the matter since it first came to light.
On Wednesday, 28 December, Black Coffee shared, “Ay…I’m not ok”. This tweet was followed by another few posts which spoke of the mental health challenges men face. Particularly, because of the “men don’t cry” philosophy that has been part of society for many years.

The DJ noted, “Thank you for the positive messages, I’ll be fine. Going through some of the comments makes one realize why men bottle things up, and some even take their lives. I hope you listen and offer support to the men in your lives when they show vulnerability.”

Speaking on his ex-wife’s allegations, the DJ noted that nothing has been the same since the world believed that he abused his wife.
He wrote, “The day my ex accused me of physically harming her, nothing was the same. It has left a heavy void in my heart, a void I can’t shake off. I lost a big part of myself. No court of law could ever fix the pain and shame I still feel today.”
Black Coffee continued to share that his late father was abusive and noted the fact that Enhle Mbali used this against him was hurtful. He added that she knows “who abused her” and that she should “confront them and leave [him] alone”.
Earlier this year, it seemed that Black Coffee and Enhle Mbali had come back on good terms. This comes as the mother of his children congratulated him on winning a Grammy Award in April. However, the former couple has not moved past their issues yet. Enhle is yet to comment on the DJ’s recent tweets.
