Lawrence Maleka, best known as Zolani from the ht 1Magic telenovela The River, will be hosting the latest season of Big Brother. This will be Maleka’s first time hosting the show, however, not the first time hosting in general.
The versatile Safta winner has previously hosted Africa Magic Entertainment’s StarGist and Mzansi Magic’s Clash of the Choirs. And earlier in the year, Maleka received high praise from viewers for his “brilliant work” as co-host of the South African Music Awards (Sama).

When it was official, Maleka shared his excitement for his involvement in the project.
“I’m excited to be part of this instalment of Big Brother Mzansi. The franchise has become a massive phenomenon in African as well as South African pop culture, and I’m happy to join in the fun as a presenter. The fan base is huge and massively loyal – it’s an honour to be part of such a fantastic production.”

What to expect from the latest season?
According to reports, the new season of Big Brother Mzansi is “the hottest one yet”.
A 24-hour channel (DStv channel 198) will be available with daily shows and weekly highlights. And viewers will also be pleased by the return of the most-liked feature – the Shower Hour.
In addition, there will be Friday game nights, Saturday parties hosted with Cannel O and featuring the hottest DJs and, of course, the Sunday night evictions.
