On todays In The Game 26 January 2022 Hustle takes us on a deep dive into what the Metaverse actually is. What is the distinction between a play to earn game and a metaverse. Don’t forget the watch the last episode of In The Game right here to ensure you don’t miss out on any of the solid advice and tips Hustle brings us every single episode.
In The Game
The metaverse is really starting to pull attention and the sheer bulk of investments speak volumes. Hustle shared a quick look at the Tristan Metaverse which has gained a some popularity purely because Vitaliks mother, or her investing group, has commented on their investments.
Elysium Testnet
The Elysium blockchain testnet is going live in the next four days. This is a carbon neutral initiative which will plant trees to help counter the impact of running the blockchain.
What is the metaverse?
The buzzword of the year is on everyone’s lips, but can most of those talking about it actually describe what it is with any accuracy?
According to google it is “a virtual-reality space in which users can interact with a computer-generated environment and other users.”. Now many of you feel you’ve player computer games and thus you have participated in the metaverse but it’s just not that simple. The best mainstream example would be “Ready player one” the movie. You put on your virtual goggles and you are transported to another world altogether, one defined by it’s level of immersive experience.
Here are some groups who are building legit metaverses.
Sandbox
Right now The Sandbox is more of a MMO type game but they are working their way to becoming a real metaverse and with the huge number of people interested and the floor price of a plot of land being around 3Eth they certainly are nothing to sneeze at.
Netvrk
The Netvrk metaverse is really embracing the VR side of things which is obviously a huge consideration when we start talking about immersion. They aim to go beyond what VR currently offer us not to mention their goals of bringing monetization to the fore front. The assets are incredibly high quality and very diverse. Instead of rushing to join the metaverse party they are taking their time to build something truly awesome. In Hustles opinion this is the most legit metaverse project right now.
Solice
Solice is a solana blockchain metaverse offering several different experiences to get involved in. If you have a look at the image in the linked tweet above you can see it ranges from forests to iced lands to futuristic looking cities. The overall experience is very futuristic and aims to take you to a place completely unlike normal life. They have some super solid investors like Animoca Brands and Three Arrows Capital which is extremely bullish.
Games Covered
Animalia
Animalia is a free-to-play NFT trading card game in which you can battle other players and buy and sell cards on the Binance Smart Chain market. Really good looking game currently in launch phase. This can be compared with Gods Unchained which has a great number of players and active trading so Animalia is joining a strong scene. If you like card battlers you should certainly get in the game early to reap the most benefit.
Clementine’s Nightmare
Hustle feels this is a blue chip play to earn game in the making. You can play even without owning any NFT’s. This game is in production for several years with a very experienced team both in gaming and NFT’s. They are planning on releasing it in two phases with the Genesis Collection to launch in Feb of 2022 with a max supply of unique assets totally to 5000 NFT assets. Keep your eyes on this project.
