Lisa Marie Presley recently attended the Golden Globes with her mother and Elvis star, Austin Butler. The singer was rushed to hospital for a medical emergency on Thursday, 12th of January.
Cause of death
Taking to Facebook on Thursday, Priscilla Presley revealed that her daughter had passed away. She urged that the public respect her privacy during this difficult time.
“It is with a heavy heart that I must share the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us. She was the most passionate strong and loving woman I have ever known. We ask for privacy as we try to deal with this profound loss. Thank you for the love and prayers. At this time there will be no further comment.”
On Thursday, People confirms that paramedics received a call that a woman had collapsed in her home in Calabassas. They shared that the woman was not breathing which prompted them to perform CPR.
Upon receiving a pulse, Lisa Marie Presley was rushed to the hospital. It is reported that the singer was admitted to the hospital for a possible cardiac arrest.
The career of Lisa Marie Presley
Her mother, Priscilla Presley shared on Facebook that her daughter had been admitted to the hospital at the time.
She shared, “My beloved daughter Lisa Marie was rushed to the hospital. We feel the prayers from around the world, and ask for privacy during this time.”
Lisa Marie Presley was the only child of the late Elvis Presley and Priscilla Presley. The rock icon died when the singer was just nine years old. Following his death, this ultimately made her the only heir to her father’s estate.
The only daughter to Elvis first kicked off her career in 2002. Her debut album titled To Whom It May Concern was released in 2003. During her entire career, Lisa Marie released a total of three albums. Her last album was released in 2012.
In 2020, Lisa Mare Presley returned to social media after taking a break from the public eye as a result of her son Benjamin Presley’s suicide at the age of 27.
Thus far, the singer’s death comes just days after she attended the Golden Globe awards with her mother Priscilla Presley and Elvis actor, Austin Bulter. For his performance, the actor took home a Golden Globe for his performance in the biopic, Elvis.
