Loadshedding has become frequent in South Africa, and the country has normalized the current struggle with the power struggle. In times of darkness, quite literally, we need something to make us smile.
Presently, Eskom is still trying to control the current electricity crisis in South Africa. Unfortunately, we haven’t gotten anywhere with solving the issue.
Dealing with the Loadshedding blues
While Loadshedding is a frustrating circumstance to be in, at this point, South Africans are tired of the promises made to them and are simultaneously just accepting the situation for what it is.
What better way to escape disappointment than laugh at some of the things we’ve had to go through during loadshedding because let’s face it, we have all been busy with something before the electricity suddenly went out.
In all honesty, Loadshedding has also shaped the way we do different things and shifted when and how we do things. Which has ultimately changed the way we live our lives.
Even though we all work around schedules to do things, using a schedule to use electricity is extremely unnatural. Other countries do not even know what this is if we share this with them! Let’s hope in the coming years that Loadshedding will in fact become something of the past. In the meantime, we can only use what we got or the hours we got!
Among other things, our very own Trevor Noah hasn’t even come back as his career took off in America. However, when the comedian does come back for his tour, it will most likely not come as a surprise that this is still happening.
Right now, what we can do to alleviate the struggle, is to find humor in something that some might not find funny at all. See what social media users have been saying below.
