On Friday, a Russian rocket struck a train station that was filled with civilians trying to escape the town of Kramatorsk. And on the side of the rocket, a phrase translated to “For the children” was written.
The rocket was one of two that killed at least 30 people thus far, with over 100 injured. And Ukraine’s communications centre confirmed via Twitter that two children were also sadly killed in the attack.
The train station was packed with civilians who had to flee from their homes and were trying to escape the city. The end destination of where the train was meant to go is still uncertain.
Propaganda in Russia accuses Ukraine of killing children
The phrase was written in white on the side of a “purported Russian rocket”. However, it was not sent with the intention that the rocket was for the children in Ukraine. Instead, it was meant in vengeance for the Russian children.
The reason for this is that Russian propaganda has recently been accusing Ukrainian troops of killing children. But in reality, Russian forces are the ones firing on civilians. And recently, they targeted a theatre in Mariupol where residents and children were sheltered.
Russia has consistently been denying the fact that they are attacking civilians, despite more than one incident being proof.
Ukraine’s Foreign Minister, Dmytro Kuleba, has vowed to “bring each war criminal to justice”.
