In between takes of The Daily Show, Trevor Noah spoke to the audience regarding the ongoing harassment situation between Kanye West, Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson.
And while Noah made good points from both West and Davidson’s side, his main takeaway was what Kardashian is going through.

Kanye West clearly does not agree
Once you’ve finished the video, it’s pretty clear that Noah is not actually choosing anyone’s side and looking at the situation from a very neutral perspective.
But somehow, West clearly saw this as a personal attack on him and felt the need to respond.
And on Wednesday the rapper took to Instagram and posted a screenshot of a Google search result page for Trevor Noah – clearly stating that he is from South Africa.
West then captioned the image with lyrics to the song Kumbaya – a song that was “a call to God to come and help the people as they faced oppression”.
Why women can’t leave abusive relationships
Many viewers and fans are labelling Kanye’s post as “random” and “disrespectful”, especially since Noah opened up about his own mother’s struggle with abusive relationships and how hard it was to get out of them.
From there the talk show host went on a tangent of how people always ask abused women why don’t they just leave. And then he explained that his mother was often told that she was “overreacting” and then she was shot in the head by Noah’s stepfather.
Thus, the extremely important point that Noah was making is that, even though it isn’t on such an extreme level, what Kim Kardashian is subjected to by her ex-husband, is an example of what happens when women try to leave unhealthy relationships.
And at the end of his discussion, he left the audience with a pondering question: “If Kim [Kardashian] cannot escape this, then what chance do normal women have?”
