We’ve reached the bizarre state of the world where the richest person alive feels he can possibly end World War 3 by punching the bad guy in the face. And we’re here for it.
On Monday, billionaire Elon Musk challenged Russian President Vladimir Putin to single combat over the country’s brutal invasion of Ukraine.
The Tesla and SpaceX CEO simply tweeted: “I hereby challenge Vladimir Putin to single combat. Stakes are Ukraine.”
And Musk even wrote parts in Cyrillic script.

to single combat
Stakes are Україна
And responding to his own message, Musk quickly posted a follow-up tweet in which he tagged the official Twitter account for the Russian presidency and asked “Do you agree to this fight?”.
There has not yet been a response from the Russian presidency and many believe that there won’t be one. But given the state of the world, it’s fair to say that most probably wouldn’t mind witnessing these two very different and powerful men combat it out.
SpaceX taunts Russia
Since the invasion, SpaceX and Russia have made it very clear that they do not see eye-to-eye – especially since Elon Musk provided Ukraine with internet access again.
And earlier this month, the two were somewhat “taunting” each other as Dimitry Rogozin, the head of the Russian space agency Roscosmos, said that Russia would stop sending rocket engines to the US in response to sanctions.
“In a situation like this, we can’t supply the United States with our world’s best rocket engines,” Rogozin said.
“Let them fly on something else, their broomsticks. I don’t know what.”
And as SpaceX launched Starlink satellites last week, the launch director took a jab right back at Russia.
“Time to let the American broomstick fly and hear the sounds of freedom.”
