It’s official, there’s one more Jonas in the world! But this time it’s a girl and Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra are over the moon.
The beautiful couple tied the knot in 2018 and has frequently been questioned about when and if they will ever have kids. But after the recent announcement, the whole internet is overjoyed by the extension of their little family.
The Jonas-Chopra baby was born 12 weeks early
The baby girl was born via surrogate at a Southern California hospital outside of Los Angeles. However, according to reports, she was born 12 weeks too early and has to remain in hospital until she is healthy enough to return home.
The baby was reportedly born last Sunday, however, Priyanka and Nick have not revealed the name of the baby yet.
“The baby had been due in April but the surrogate ended up giving birth on Sunday, so she was very premature.”
And according to an insider close to the couple, the reason for surrogacy was not due to Priyanka having any fertility issues.
‘Priyanka doesn’t have any fertility issues preventing her from having a baby, but she is 39 now so it’s not getting any easier,’ the source said.
The couple’s busy schedules got in the way of family planning
The insider also shared that Nick and Priyanka have always wanted to start a family together, but it was their busy schedules that got in the way.
“Their busy work schedules also mean that it’s difficult for them to physically be together to conceive when she is ovulating, so some time ago they went down the surrogacy route.”
In a recent interview, Priyanka opened up about being ready to find a “balance” between work life and family life.
“My priority has always been the next job. I’m a very, very ambitious person. But I think the woman in me is craving balance.
I’m craving my family life. I’m craving being able to do things for the soul that I didn’t do because I was just ‘blinders on’ and working.”
And now the happy couple can finally live out their dream of becoming parents.
